Monster hopped, as the sea captains of old enjoyed. Producing a rich bodied ale with a deep copper color. Each True Brew ingredient kit makes approximately 5 gallons of beer which is equivalent to 2 cases of 12oz beers. This Ingredient Kit Includes: Unhopped Amber Malt Extract (2 cans), Crystal Grain (1 lb), Grain Steeping Bag, Chinook Hop Pellets (1 oz), Cascades Hop Pellets (1 oz), Heavy, Priming Sugar (5 oz), Bottle Caps, Easy to Read Instructions.

See www.urbanhippy.ca for details. All I have on tap is 8% ABV Cherry Stout, and Hefeweizen is meant to be drunk young anyway. So I cleaned and sanitzied a 2L container and dipped it into the fermenter 6 days after brew day – perfect time for Hefeweizen! The Germans use the term “Zwickle” (“developing”) for beers served young like this, but few styles lend themselves to it like Hefeweizen, Bavarian (Austria/Swiss) Wheat Beer.
